Laughlin to Host City-Wide Hispanic Celebration in October
Viva Laughlin! to be held in conjunction with Latino Heritage Month
LAUGHLIN, NV - July 30, 2004 - The Laughlin Tourism Committee announced today that the destination will host Viva Laughlin!, a groundbreaking Latin Arts, Entertainment & Sports promotion celebrating Latino Heritage Month.
The city-wide event, produced by Pochteca EventWorks, is scheduled for October 8 - 11.
During the four days of the celebration, Laughlin will host of the largest fiestas of its kind. Viva Laughlin! will feature performances by top Latin artists and comedians, along with televised boxing, theatrical productions, variety shows and films, celebrity appearances, expos, special activities and more. A complete schedule and listing of performers will be announced in August.
"Viva Laughlin! is an unprecedented event for the destination as it specifically targets the burgeoning Hispanic population," said Sean Hammond, director of player development and casino events at the Ramada Express and
local chairperson for the event. "Our outreach efforts will target the regional markets including Southern California, Phoenix-Mesa, Las Vegas and Bullhead City, areas which account for 25% of the total Hispanic Hispanic
population in the U.S. Given Laughlin's proximity to these areas, it will be convenient for Hispanic visitors to make the trip to experience this city-wide celebration."
