The Colors and Spirits of the Hispanic International Day
Parade of Nevada Returns for its 7th Annual Celebration
on Saturday, Octobber 13, 2007

Los Angeles, CA – September 10, 2007. On Saturday, Oct.13, 2007, Las Vegas will host the 7th Annual Hispanic International Day Parade in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The parade starts at 10 am at the intersection of Gass and Fourth Streets in downtown Las Vegas.

The goal of the event is to increase awareness and celebrate cultural diversity among Las Vegas’ various Latino communities and all ethnic/racial groups. Following the parade, a day-long celebration will take place at the world-famous Fremont Street Experience located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The event is presented by Cox Communications, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Hot 97.5, Que Pasa Magazine and El Tiempo Newspaper and produced in association with Pochteca Media.

The parade will be televised on Cox Ch. 96 and will feature colorful floats, marching bands, equestrian teams, performing artists, color guards, celebrities, dance troupes, antique cars and more. More than 21 Latino/Hispanic countries are represented in the parade and many non-Hispanic groups participate as well, including representatives from the Philippines, Italy, and the African American community via the NAACP’s local chapter.

Founded by Margarita Rebollal and Dr. Mildred Arroyo McClain, the Hispanic International Day Parade of Nevada Inc. has been an on-going celebration for the past seven years with annual attendance at more than 10,000.
